MICHAEL DAHL RASMUSSEN
Michael is a trained actor, singer and composer from Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, The Anne Rosing Institute and University of Copenhagen. Based in London, he recently starred in the leading role of Jerome Teppel in the UK premiere of the comedy "It’s Only Murder" by Sam Bobrick, and later went on to feature and MD in the new song cycle "Making Waves" at Camden Fringe Festival. Soon he can be seen as the titular character in City Studio Academy’s semi-professional production of Sweeney Todd.
Having acted since he was a kid, his creative spark truly manifested itself when he began playing the piano at age 17, and a year later was finalist in a composing competition for teenagers. He never stopped composing, and has since written a Suite for Piano, Choir and Flute (on Soundcloud), incidental music and songs for new musicals and theatre, and formed his own band whose eponymous album Virvar can now be found on Spotify, Tidal and iTunes. He also enjoyed a career as improv pianist and actor in the improv comedy groups of Copenhagen, and was principal improv musician for the first Copenhagen International Improv Festival.
Today, he is combining his writing skills with performance, currently working on a new musical called “The Little Book of Hygge” in which he will feature himself.
When he isn’t performing, singing or writing, he has a passion for existentialist TV shows like Rick & Morty, massage therapy, puns of varying quality, and teaching singing.
